Council Geographic Area Information
The Annawon Council has an agreement with the Narragansett Boy Scout Council. By this agreement Cub Scouts from both councils attend Camp Norse for Cub Scout Resident Camp. Boy Scouts from Annawon Council attend Cachalot Scout Reservation which is 880 acres and owned/operated by the Narragansett Council. Boy Scouts from all over use Camp Norse, which is 350 acres, during the off season. But, during the summer it is strictly a Cub Scout camp except for "Tribal Camp" which is for Boy Scouts as well as Venturing Scouts. During the summer Camp Norse is known as Camp Norse Cub World.
Has been offering Scout Camping for sixty-one years (1946-2007).

Camp Norse has been serving Scouts since 1934. The camp occupies 320+ acres and is located on Darby Pond (10 or more acres) in Plymouth and Kingston, Massachusetts. They offer swimming in a built-in pool and a waterfront for boating, canoeing, and possible limited sailing. They offer tent campsites, Adirondack (three wall cabins) shelters, and winter cabins for overnight groups, an activity field for athletics and camporees, boats and/or canoes for overnight groups, a Cub Scout Day Camp Program, and a dining hall during summer camp.
The camp is within minutes of Cape Cod Canal Bike Path, Plymouth Rock, Plimouth Plantation, the Mayflower, Myles Standish Forest, and King Richard's Faire. It makes a great base camp or a starting point for any trips to the Cape Cod and Boston area. They have an on-site Camp Ranger and a well-stocked Trading Post. Camp Norse provides a year round camping experience. During the summer Camp Norse becomes the official SEMCA (Southeastern Massachuetts Camping Association) Cub Scout summer facility providing Cub Resident Camp for all age Cub Scouts, Cub Scout Day Camp, Cub/Parent Weekends, and Family Camp. This Resident Camp serves Cubs, leaders and parents from the Annawon, Narragansett, and Old Colony Councils, as well as any Cub Scout that would like to attend. It is also open to any Cub Scout Pack looking for a great Resident Camp program for their Cubs. They have a "Cub World" program, that allows Cub Scouts, parents and leaders to camp for 2 nights and 3 days or 4 nights and 5 days in one of five different area campsites. For questions regarding summer programs and to recieve a brochure call the Council Service Center 508-286-9202 ext. 202 or E-mail: info@annawonbsa.org

Tulpe Lodge #245, Section NE-1B

This O.A. Lodge started in 1935. Their turtle shell lodge symbol came from the turtles from Camp Norse. Apparently it was custom at the time to hollow out a turtle shell and use it as a neckerchief slide.
